I could probably introduce this month's moderator with a couple of banjo notes. The Woodwright's Shop theme song is one that is forever ingrained in my head, and likely in many of yours as well. A seminal show on the network that raised me, Roy Underhill, feels like an old friend, even though we have never met. I will admit my guilty YouTube pleasure is binging old episodes, the most endearing part being that even while the world advances and technologies change, an episode of The Woodwright's Shop from 1988 hits the same as ones from 2008. Tried-and-true information never goes out of style, just like Roy's hat. The Woodwright's Shop (1988)

Roy has many titles to choose from, so why "Calvin Cobb, Radio Woodworker!"? Look at that cover! Excitement and woodworking rarely go hand in hand, as long as everything goes according to plan at least, but A bright red motorcycle adorned with "Ils Ne Passeront Pas" a rallying cry of "they shall not pass" used to hold a line in war worked just as well on me when I stopped dead at this cover. I was excited to see this alternate cover that could just as easily be a pulpy crime thriller, but instead of the smoking revolver sits a Stanley 45.

This meeting will take place on Sunday, September 7th, at 7:00 PM EST on Discord. We will be changing one aspect of the meeting, which is that from now on the meetings will be recorded and posted for free on so you can enjoy them at your leisure. Looking forward to seeing you all!
