"Dutch Tool Chests" by Megan Fitzpatrick is more than just a how-to woodworking project book, the skills taught are valuable for any case construction and the subject of the tool chest will make you re-think design in general. I found the history of the Dutch tool chest to be one of my favorite chapters alongside the gallery of stunning DTC's. What a fun way to get your brain thinking of all the different design and decoration opportunities. Closing the book with that solidified my want to build my own.

I can't skip over the fact that this book is so technical in text but so easy to read and follow along. That is a skill that only comes with years and years of mastering woodworking. I mean the chapter on dovetails, a subject matter that has been beaten to death, was written for multiple different skill levels like a choose your own adventure book, and I found new helpful information in a place I thought I would just graze over.

This book could even be used as a catalog for all the hardware you always coveted from the Lost Art Press makers. I love the fact that Megan is making beautifully designed and incredibly functional pieces that are historical in inspiration but has a twist on it that when you see, or hear it, if you have ears as good as Roy Underhill, you know it's of Megan's doing in some way or another.

This book has started one of the busiest Discord chats of any book before the meeting, so head on over and hear what everyone is talking about.
